Exciting career opportunity for an experienced Steel Detailer keen to work on interesting projects within a unique group of construction & design companies

Our client provides electrical, plumbing, drainage, and roofing services throughout the greater Wellington region and soon across the North Island. They sit inside a family of business that deliver bespoke, innovative projects for a variety of clients across a wide range of sectors.

They are currently looking for a driven individual to join their team as a Steel Detailer in Wellington..

About the role

• Produce detailed drawings using Tekla that meet client requirements and support manufacturing and site installation, including drawing revisions, design changes and/or project updates
• Review contract documentation ensuring that the plans, specifications and pricing provide a comprehensive scope of the required building
• Prepare accurate material lists, take-offs and procurement information for purchasing and fabrication.
• Collaborate closely with internal teams (Project Managers, Quantity Surveyors, engineers and workshop teams) and clients to ensure designs are practical, accurate and deliverable as well as to resolve any issues early in the process.
• Create accurate quotes and supporting documentation to meet client requirements in agreed timeframe

About you

• Have 6+ years experience as a Steel Dteailer
• Strong Tekla Software skills
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, architectural plans & specifications.
• Sound understanding of structural steel detailing, fabrication and erection processes.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• The ability to identify and resolve design issues before they reach the workshop or site
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
